Update: no more volunteers are required for this project. We had great response, thanks to everyone who made themselves available!
The Indianapolis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® can always use the help of supporters like you to fulfill our mission. Some of our volunteer opportunities are event specific and others support our day-to-day operations.
We have an immediate need for help to represent Komen in Anderson at the upcoming Colts training camp. The Indianapolis Colts has invited Komen Indy to participate in Colts City, the interactive fan-experience area at the 2010 Training Camp on the grounds of Anderson University on Wednesday, August 4th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Can we have a few hours of your time to work our booth?
How you can help:
We need 6 volunteers to work each shift: 9 to noon; 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. You may volunteer to work more than one shift. There is a parking fee of $10 which you would be responsible for as part of your volunteer effort.
Volunteers will wear their Race for the Cure shirts and shorts or jeans. If you do not have a Race for the Cure shirt, one will be provided to you by Komen. You will sell Dasani bottles of water to Colts fans. Coca Cola is providing the bottled water. Komen Indy sells the bottled water for $2 each and Komen gets to keep the $2. That’s a good deal! The Colts are expecting 1,500 to 3,000 fans.
