For the first time in the 21 years of the Central Indiana Race for the Cure, we will have a special Team Tailgate area on Race Day for qualifying teams that raise $10,000 or more. Not only will these teams get a team tent to decorate and hang out in, they will be in the middle of all the action in Military Park! Having a Team Tailgate tent will provide a great meeting location for team members, as well as an area to enjoy breakfast.
*Congratulations to Team Faithful Friends and Team Lux for being the first teams to get a Team Tailgate tent!
TEAM TAILGATE FAQs
Is there a fundraising deadline in order to qualify for a tent in the Team Tailgate area?
Yes – the fundraising deadline to qualify for a tent is Sunday, April 8th, but don’t stop fundraising there! We will still have other incentives for fundraising, such as weekly prize drawings, a post-Race party for teams that raise the most per team member, and the Pink Honor Roll for the Top 100 individual fundraisers.
Encourage your team members to document offline donations received on the Fundraising Form, log offline donations on the team’s or individual participant’s page, and forward the Fundraising Form along with the donations to Komen Central Indiana Race for the Cure to receive credit by Sunday, April 8th.
What size are the tents?
Teams who raise at least $10,000 will receive a 10’ x 10’ tent.
The top fundraising team will have a 20’ x 20’ tent.
Are teams allowed to have food and drinks in the tents?
Yes! Food and drinks are welcome; however, alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
What will be provided by Komen Central Indiana?
One 8’ foot table will be provided. Feel free to bring lawn chairs to add to your team area. Komen will also provide two cases of bottled water and breakfast snacks.
When may teams decorate tents?
Tent decorating may occur the afternoon of Friday, April 20th between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Overnight security will be on site; however, we are not responsible for any damage or loss of materials. We suggest any items left on the ground overnight be covered with a tarp.
More details will be sent directly to team captains when they hit the $10,000 fundraising mark!
