Race Information

The Race is a certified USATF 5K (3.1 mile) course with running and walking events for everyone from competitive runners to families.

When

The 2013 Race will be held Saturday, April 20th. The day will include opening ceremonies, the annual Pink Parade of breast cancer survivors, a 5K timed competitive run, a 5K non-competitive run/walk, a one-mile family walk and Kids' Dash.

7:00 – 8:30 a.m. Registration Shelter (where you can register or pick up your Race shirt packets if you have already registered)
7:15 a.m. Survivors meet at the Survivors' Tent
7:30 – 8:40 a.m. Opening Ceremony & Pink Parade of Survivors
8:40 a.m. Kids' Dash (100-yard dash for children ages 2 through 8; all children participating in the Kids' Dash must be officially registered for the Race, wearing a Kids' Dash bib and accompanied by a parent or guardian)
8:40 a.m. Aerobic Warm-Up / Zumba
9:00 a.m. Competitive 5K Run Start
9:10 a.m. Participant 5K Run/Walk Start
9:20 a.m. One-Mile Family Walk Start

Where

The Race is held in downtown Indianapolis and begins in Military Park.

Pets & Strollers

For the safety of all participants, rollerblades and pets are discouraged from participating in this event.

Families are welcome to bring children in strollers but are asked to participate in the less congested One-Mile Family Walk.

Handicap Accessibility

  • Parking permits. Please contact the office to request a parking permit for the handicap lot.
  • Wheelchairs. We do have wheelchairs - they are on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be located by the Registration Shelter in Military Park (between the back of the shelter and West Street).

Registration & Donations

Individuals will be able to register on Race Day morning from 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at the Registration Shelter in Military Park.

Donations will be accepted on Race Day at the Pledges & Donations tent. Receipts will be issued for cash donations. Thank you letters will be mailed after the Race for all donations of $100 or more. For smaller donations, your canceled check can serve as a receipt. Please make your check or money order payable to: Komen Central Indiana Race for the Cure.
