The YWCA Greater Lafayette Women’s Cancer Program (WCP) is dedicated to educating women about the importance of early detection and to facilitating access to medical services for clinical breast exams, Pap tests and mammograms for low-income, underserved, minority women in 23 west central Indiana counties. Funding is also available for women needing additional diagnostic procedures and treatment. The program focuses on removing all barriers and providing free screenings, diagnostic procedures, and treatment to all qualified women.

LRD’s Mammography Assistance Program (MAP) provides free CBE’s, mammograms, diagnostic care and related services to qualifying medically underserved women in Marion, Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, and Shelby Counties.

Synopsis: Reaching Out is a collaborative effort committed to ensuring that no woman in Delaware County & surrounding counties goes without access to vital breast health services. The program will reach underserved women by presenting educational and screening programs at a variety of sights throughout the community.
St. Vincent Hospital:317-338-9565or www.stvincent.org Project Name: Banishing Barriers Through Mobile Mammography
Synopsis:The St. Vincent Mobile Mammography program will help to banish these barriers by providing free mammography screenings to uninsured/underinsured women in four central Indiana counties on-board the mobile van. The program works with community partners that are already providing services to these women.

Synopsis: MAP provides low cost mammograms for women who do not have insurance and or are unable to pay the costs covered by insurance. A Nurse Navigator service is available for any screening that results in further treatment and help identifying financial assistance programs to cover expenses of additional care if needed.

Synopsis: Well Women Clinics will be held at Wheeler Mission Care Center, St. Vincent DePaul food pantries, Westminster Neighborhood Ministries Food Pantry, and GFC Food Clinic will have access to clinical breast exams, breast health education and awareness along with screening mammograms.

Synopsis: WHW provides breast health education resources as well as breast screening, diagnostic services and case management to the medically underserved populations in Rush, Shelby, Hancock, Henry and Marion Counties.

Project Name: Survivor Support Program
Synopsis: $500 grant to women needing assistance during breast cancer treatments with support in everyday, practical needs that will reduce stress and boost energy levels. This program also reduces the risk of job absences due to treatment.

Synopsis: Comprehensive breast education, screening & navigation program to underserved women in Grant County.

Synopsis: Breast Cancer Screening & Education targeting uninsured/underinsured minority women with an emphasis on Hispanic and African American Women living in Northwest Indianapolis. Women will be reached through education outreach and well women exams that include clinical breast exams will be provided.

Synopsis: Free Clinical breast exams; follow up diagnostic tests and breast care education for uninsured/underinsured/underserved women living in Madison County.

Synopsis: Medical providers will improve access to breast health services for uninsured and underserved women by providing breast health exams, education on breast self exams and referrals for diagnostic procedures which may include mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies.

Synopsis: The program provides much needed access to free clinical breast exams and screening mammograms, as well as diagnostic mammograms and free additional studies when necessary, to Decatur County women who have no health insurance or are underinsured.

Synopsis: Program to train lay health advisors/promotoras to provide breast health education and referrals for CBE’s, and screening mammograms tounderserved African American, Latina/Hispanic Women in Marion County.

Synopsis: Uninsured/underinsured Rush County residents will have coordinated access to breast health through breast cancer screening and education. Supportive care services in Rush County will be highlighted by the Pink Ribbon Gala which emphasizes ongoing women’s health education.

Synopsis: Brookes Place for Grieving Young People provides grief support and services for children ages 3 through 22 and their families who have experienced the death of a loved one. Programs are on going and children and their families receive support as long as they need help.

Synopsis:Two and a half day retreat incorporating fly-fishing instruction, social support, counseling, education and medical information, for women who have or have had breast cancer.

Synopsis: Resource kits with educational and supportive materials designed specifically for premenopausal young women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
