How Your Company Can Get Involved
How your company can get involved in 2012
Although Komen’s Central Indiana Affiliate is best known for our Race for the Cure, we have opportunities to partner with companies throughout the year for events, education and outreach initiative.
Become a sponsor. Komen Central Indiana hosts two annual fundraising events: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® (Saturday, April 21st) and Pink Tie Ball gala (Saturday, February 18th). Thanks to a phenomenal support base, our Race has nearly 38,000 participants and is one of the largest Races out of 120+ affiliates worldwide. Sponsors at $7,500+ will get their name on the Race shirts – sponsors at $5,000+ will get tent space at the Race Day Expo. Sponsorships can be cash, in-kind or a combination. View our 2012 sponsorship opportunities and benefits for the Race and/or Pink Tie Ball.
- Form a Race Team. One of the best ways to raise funds and awareness for Komen’s mission to end breast cancer forever is by getting your associates involved. Offering fun incentives for them to individually and/or collectively fundraise—such front row parking for a month or an extra vacation day—has had tremendous success for our corporate teams in the past. Registration will open October 1st, at which point you will be able to form a team on our Race page.
- Host a fundraiser. Host a one-time or ongoing fundraiser. Whether it’s hosting an event, donating a percent of proceeds or selling a special item, year-round fundraising is vital to our ability to reach Central Indiana individuals in need! See what other organizations have done, and review our guidelines and application.
- Donate items for silent auctions, incentives and prizes. We have several events throughout the year where silent auctions, door prizes and fundraising incentives are extremely useful and appreciated. If you have anything you think can come in handy—such as gift baskets, tickets certificates, coupons—please let us know at info@komenindy.org.
- Schedule a Lunch & Learn. If you are interested in hosting an educational event, our Grants & Education Coordinator, Wendy Noe, can arrange a customized Breast Cancer 101 presentation. For more information, you can contact Wendy at wendy_noe@komenindy.org
If you have additional questions or ideas, we’d love to talk with you about them! Please contact our office at (317) 638-2873 or info@komenindy.org.
