Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the world’s largest advocate for breast health and has invested more than $1.9 billion in finding the cures since its beginning  in 1982. Every major advancement in breast cancer research has been funded in part by Komen dollars, including the understanding that there is more than one type of breast cancer. Several research grants are currently being conducted here in Indiana at Indiana University and Purdue University.  One groundbreaking study at IU Simon Cancer Center has implications for treatment of other types of cancer.
