Central Indiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®
Komen Central Indiana is one of more than 120 affiliates and contributes 25% of its revenue to fund the breast cancer research. The remaining 75% stays local in our 21-county service area to provide grants for 17 breast health programs. These programs help ensure that women in Central Indiana are getting the education, screenings, treatment assistance and survivor support they need.
Central Indiana Race for the Cure®
The Komen Central Indiana Race for the Cure is the largest single-day fundraising event in Indiana and one of the largest Komen Races in the world. In 2011, nearly 38,000 Race participants, 500 volunteers and more than 100 corporations came together to raise $2.6
million to help end breast cancer by funding research, education and early detection services.
The 21st annual Race will take place Saturday, April 21st 2012 at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis. This event features a competitive 5K run/walk, a non-competitive 5K, a one-mile family walk, Survivor Parade, Survivor Village and Kids for the Cure activity station. The Race raises more than 80% of our affiliate’s annual revenue, so we always appreciate your help with recruiting participants and raising funds beyond registration fees!
